Homemade Remedy for Acid Reflux?

Acid reflux is essentially acid damaging your esophagus tissue which causes pain in the lower chest area, all the way up to the throat. It is when some of the acid from your stomach works it way up your esophagus. Hydrochloric acid is an acid in your stomach which helps to break down food and protect you from different kinds of bacteria. Your gastroesophageal sphincter is someone what of a pump that lets food go into your stomach without going back into the esophagus. Acid reflux symptoms are felt when the “pump” doesn’t work and hydrochloric acid is released into the tissue in your esophagus.Typically people who are overweight experience this because there is excess fat applying pressure to the stomach.Other causes are stress and eating acidic foods. Stress can bring on acid reflux because there is a substance called prostaglandins which protects your stomach of acid but when you are stressed this substance isn’t produced to its full capacity. Symptoms can include, bloating, nausea, pain in the lower chest, vomiting and many more unfortunate bodily functions. There are a few current treatments to acid reflux. One of them is Zantac, an over the counter pill which blocks acid in the stomach.I don’t like using over the counter drugs for a prolonged period of time because they typically have side effects. Some long term side effects of Zantac are insomnia, headaches, nausea and stomach pains or discomfort. This is why I decided to create my own solution! After much research on the most effect all natural herbs to prevent acid reflux, I compiled a list of ingredients to use in a homemade medication. This includes, liquorice root, chamomile, apple cider vinegar extract, aloe vera and ginger.
